First Aid Kit a Must
Posted by trixie42 on June 16, 2009
How important is a First Aid Kit? Until something happens? Don’t wait until that disaster strikes. Be prepared.
A well stocked first aid kit, kept within easy reach is a necessity in every home, car or place of business. It is wise to include the first-aid kit when on vacation.
Include the following in each of your firs-aid kits:
first-aid manual
sterile gauze
adhesive tape
adhesive bandages in several sizes
elastic bandage
antiseptic wipes
soap
antibiotic cream
antiseptic solution (peroxide)
hydrocotisone cream (1%)
acetaminophen and ibuprofen
tweezers
sharp scissors
safety pins
disposable instant cold packs
calamine lotion
alcohol wipes or ethyl alcohol
thermometer
plastic gloves (at least two pair)
flashlight and extra batteries
mouthpiece for administering CPR (can be obtained from your local Red Cross)
list of emergency phone numbers
blanket
After you have stocked your first-aid kits be sure to read the manual from cover to cover so you will understand how to use the contents. Store the kits out of reach of children but easily accessible for adults. Remember to check kits often to replace missing items or items that are out-of-date.
